Armastus on iseenese tunnistamine. Kui armastad iseend, tunned end niivõrd rikkana, et võid endale lubada armastada igaüht.

Yogic diet

You are what you eat. In ancient times, food was considered medicine and a healer. The principles of healthy diet were widely known and food was used as a cleaner, healer, and for keeping balance. Fortunately, this kind of attitude is coming back and we already know that every time we eat something, we are creating our future.

Yogic diet is based on Ayurveda principle stating that health is the balance between body, mind and consciousness.

Tridoshas are factors that need to be balanced and that have critical importance concerning health:

  1. Vata (air) - sustains the body, controls the mind and perception and causes the elimination of waste.
  2. Pitta (gall) - answers for digestion, the fire of digestion.
  3. Kapha (phlegm) - nurtures and lubricates the body, takes care of sexual potential.

There are three types of foods:

  1. Sun foods - there is the biggest amount of Sun energy and the least amount of Earth energy in these foods. That type of food sharpens consciousness, brightens and energizes the body and the nervous system. Fruit, nuts, avocado, dates, cocnut belong to this type.
  2. Ground foods - there is less of the Sun energy and more of the Earth energy in these foods. This type of food is nutritious, good cleanser. Beans, rice, bread, green vegetables belong to this type.
  3. Earth foods - there is a lot of Earth energy and only indirect Sun energy in these foods. This type of food is healing and great when work is physically hard. Potato, beetroot, garlic, onion, ginger, turnip belong to this type.

Yogis are lacto-vegans - they eat vegetarian food and some milk products.

Meat makes the reaction of blood too acid. To be in possibly good health and to maintain mental balance, the reaction of blood should be slightly alkaline. The normal relation would be 75% alkaline and 25% acid.

Meat starts to rot right after the slaughtering of the animal and will continue the process in the intestinal tract and the stomach. Meat digests very slowly, approximately three days. To maintain good health, the food has to leave the body within 18 hours for women and 24 hours for men.

Acid blood is an ideal environment for cancer to develop. Meat is the most important source of cholesterol, that causes cardio-vascular deseases. The animals consumed as meat are mostly raised with the help of chemicals and growth hormones.

About milk products: phlegm keeps the respiratory system lubricated and protects membranes. Practicing Kundalini yoga and breath of fire eliminates phlegm, at the same time, consuming milk products stimulates phlegm production. In this way we have the old phlegm removed and enough fresh phlegm produced to do its job. People allergic to cow milk should try using soya milk or goat milk products.
